Date Nut Bars - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
3/4 c. unsifted flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/8 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. Mazola corn oil
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coarsely chopped dates
1 c. coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts
Preparation

Grease a 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
In a medium bowl, stir together sugars, flour, baking powder and salt.
Make a well in the center.
Add eggs, corn oil and vanilla.
Stir until smooth.
Stir in dates and nuts until well mixed.
Spread evenly in prepared pan. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned and cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
While still warm, cut into 24 bars.
