Homemade Pastry Recipe - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    6 Tbsp. shortening
    2 to 3 Tbsp. cold water
Preparation
    Mix flour and salt in bowl; cut in shortening.
    Gradually add cold water, mixing until flour is moistened.
    Shape dough into ball; flatten to 1-inch thick.
    On lightly floured board, roll dough into a circle about 2 inches larger than inverted 9-inch pie plate.
    Line plate with pastry, then turn edge under.
    Flute, if desired.
