English Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups slivered almonds
    8-oz. Hershey bar
    1 cup ground almonds
Preparation
    Melt butter at 250 degrees.
    Add sugar and slivered almonds. Stir with a wooden spoon while sugar melts and blends with butter. Slowly turn up heat.
    Cook until caramel in color (30-40 minutes).
    If butter separates, continue cooking.
    Pour into jelly roll pan (extremely hot).
    Break up 1/2 Hershey bar and spread on top of hot toffee.
    Sprinkle with 1/2 ground almonds.
    Set until cold.
    Turn over on waxed paper and spread other side with 1/2 Hershey bar (melt in microwave).
    Top with ground almonds.
    Break into bite-sized pieces.
