Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    1/2 c. boiling water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    cherries or nuts
Preparation
    Combine sugar, corn syrup and water.
    Cook over moderate heat until it spins a thread when dropped from a spoon.
    Gradually add to the beaten egg whites, beating all the while.
    Add vanilla and beat until candy loses its gloss and stands in peaks. Drop by teaspoon. Top with cherries or nuts.
