Hot Tamale Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 c. boiling water
    2 c. cornmeal
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/2 lb. ground pork
    small can tomatoes
    1 onion, chopped
    small clove garlic
    2 Tbsp. oil
    2 Tbsp. chili powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Make mush with water and cornmeal and line 9-inch square pan with 2-inch layer of mush.
    Fry onion in oil until pale yellow; add meat and brown lightly.
    Add tomatoes, garlic, chili powder, salt and pepper and simmer 10 minutes.
    Pour into pan and top with remaining mush.
    Bake for 2 hours at 325\u00b0.
