Minestrone - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 oz. smoked ham
2 carrots
1 onion
2 potatoes
1 celery stalk
1 leek
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 qt. water
2 bouillon cubes
2 Tbsp. tomato puree
1 clove garlic
1 c. small pasta
1/3 c. long grain rice
1 can whole tomatoes
1 pkg. frozen peas, thawed
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Dice ham in small pieces.
Rinse vegetables.
Peel carrots, onion and potatoes.
Slice all vegetables or cut into julienne sticks.
Saute ham and vegetables in oil for a few minutes. Transfer to a large pot.
Add water, bouillon cubes, tomato puree, garlic, pasta and rice.
Cook covered on medium-low heat for 20 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes and thawed peas to soup.
Heat. Season with salt and pepper.
