Refrigerator Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. solid shortening
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. buttermilk
1 c. boiling water
1 c. \"100% bran\" ready to eat cereal
2 c. \"all-bran\" ready to eat cereal
Preparation

Thoroughly cream together sugar and shortening. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well. Add flour, salt and buttermilk, mixing until smooth.
