Lentil And Sausage Soup - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. dry lentils
5 c. water
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 Tbsp. instant beef bouillon granules
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried basil, crushed
1/4 tsp. pepper
12 oz. fully cooked smoked sausage or Polish sausage
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen, cut broccoli
1 (or more) medium carrot
Preparation

Rinse lentils and drain.
In a large saucepan, combine lentils, water, onion, bouillon granules, salt, basil and pepper. Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
Cover and simmer for 25 minutes. Quarter sausage lengthwise and slice 1/2-inch thick.
Add along with frozen broccoli and carrot.
Return to boiling.
Simmer, covered, for 10 to 15 minutes longer or until lentils and vegetables are tender.
Makes 4 servings.
