Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. melted shortening
1 1/4 c. molasses
1 egg, beaten
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. hot water
Preparation

Combine shortening and molasses.
Add egg.
Stir until well blended.
Mix and sift dry ingredients and add alternately with the hot water to the molasses mixture.
Bake in a well-greased 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350\u00b0 for about 45 minutes.
