Mother'S Holiday Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3 eggs
    1 c. jam (any kind)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. dates, grated
    1 apple, grated
    1 c. butter or Crisco
    1 c. buttermilk
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 c. nuts
    1 c. raisins
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs and mix well.
    Combine buttermilk and jam.
    Add alternately with dry ingredients.
    Add nuts and fruit.
    Bake in three 9-inch greased cake pans for 30 minutes.
