Old Fashioned Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. soft bread crumbs (use 4 c. for firmer)
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. seedless raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. milk, scalded with 1/4 c. butter*
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients in a 1 1/2-quart baking dish thoroughly. Place baking dish and a pan of hot water (1-inch deep) in oven. Bake until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean, about 30 to 45 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Makes 6 servings.
    Serve warm, with or without a hard sauce.
