Cottage Pudding One Egg Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream shortening; add sugar until creamed.
    Add unbeaten egg and vanilla.
    Beat until smooth.
    Add sifted dry ingredients; alternate with milk.
    Pour into 8-inch square pan greased and floured.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 40 minutes.
