Easy Cheesy Taters - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. hash browns (the cubed style, not the shredded style)
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 can Cheddar cheese soup (undiluted)
    1/4 c. melted butter
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 to 1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 c. chopped onion (optional)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together and pour into a 9 x 13 pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. (Shorter bake time equals a creamier dish; longer bake time browns the top, but is a little drier.)
