Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    8 c. water
    1 c. cornstarch
    4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1 peck apples, pared and sliced
Preparation
    Cook water,
    cornstarch,
    sugar, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg until thick, then add
    lemon
    juice.
    Put apples into jars.
    Pour hot mixture over top.
    Process
    quarts
    for 20 minutes, pints for 15 minutes.
    Open when needed and
    put into pie shell.
    Bake as you would any other fresh apple pie.
