Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water (boiling)
3 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. white Karo syrup
3 c. raw peanuts
3 tsp. butter (oleo)
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Mix sugar, syrup
and
boiling\twater together well and cook until mixture
spins
a
thread
when
poured
from spoon (293\u00b0). Add
peanuts
and
stir
continuously,
cooking until syrup turns light brown in color and peanuts are done.\tRemove from heat.
Add soda, salt, butter and vanilla;
beat rapidly and thoroughly. Pour
into\ta
buttered cookie sheet.
Spread thin as possible. Cool completely and break into pieces.
