Pistachio Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 oz. pkg. Oreo cookies
    1/2 c. butter
    2 (3 oz.) pkg. instant pistachio pudding
    1 1/2 c. milk
    1 c. whipping cream or 8 oz. Cool Whip
    1 qt. softened vanilla or French vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    Crush Oreo cookies.
    Melt butter.
    Mix with cookies.
    Pat in 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Save some crumbs for top of dessert.
    Beat pudding with milk.
    Mix whipped cream or Cool Whip with pudding.
    Add ice cream.
    Mix all together.
    Add a few drops of green food coloring, if desired.
    Pour over cookie layer.
    Freeze.
    Let soften slightly before serving.
    Keeps well in freezer.
