Boiled Custard - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. sweet milk
    1 c. sugar
    2 tsp. vanilla
    4 whole eggs or egg yolks
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Heat milk in double boiler just to boiling point.
    Beat eggs and sugar, blend them well.
    Add to milk; cook until it coats a spoon good.
    Stir constantly while cooking.
    Remove from heat and add vanilla and chill.
