Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 tsp. salt
    1 lb. ground beef
    1/4 c. chopped onions
    1/2 c. chopped green pepper
    1/2 tsp. ground pepper
    1 can kidney beans
    1 can tomatoes with juice
    1 tsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Sprinkle the salt in the frying pan so meat won't spatter. Then put the ground beef, the onion, green pepper and pepper in pan.
    Cook over moderate heat, stirring and breaking meat into small pieces.
    Cook until the meat is light brown and the onion and green pepper are tender.
    Spoon extra fat off meat and then add beans, tomatoes and chili powder.
    Bring to a slow bubble, then stir.
    Reduce the heat, cover with a lid and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes or more.
    Makes 6 servings.
