Cookie Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. margarine
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. sifted flour
    1 (6 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    1 c. medium chopped walnuts or pecans
Preparation
    Combine margarine, vanilla and salt; blend well.
    Gradually beat in sugar.
    Blend in flour.
    Add chocolate chips and 3/4 cup nuts; mix well.
    Press evenly into ungreased 15 x 10-inch pan. Spread remaining 1/4 cup nuts over top and press lightly.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool, then break into irregular pieces.
    Makes about 2 pounds of crisp cookies.
