Perfect Cornbread - cooking recipe

2 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
8 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 c. cornmeal
4 eggs
2 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Stir in cornmeal. Add eggs, milk and shortening. Beat just until smooth. Pour into a greased pan. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until lightly brown or toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
