Apple Pineapple Scallop - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lg. can pineapple tidbits
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 cup lemon juice
    3 cups sliced tart cooking apples
    1/4 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 slices dry bread to make bread crumbs
    1/4 lb. grated sharp cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Drain pineapple, reserve 3/4 cup juice.
    Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt and reserved pineapple juice in heavy saucepan.
    Cook stirring constantly until thickened.
    Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice and set aside.
    Layer fruit, crumbs and cheese in buttered 2 quart casserole.
    Pour on liquid before adding last layer of crumbs and cheese.
    Cover and bake at 350\u00b0
    for about 1 hour or until apple slices are tender.
    Serve hot with pork or any meat or warm as a dessert.
