Apple Crisp - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 to 6 tart apples (large)
    1 to 2 tsp. cinnamon (optional)
    1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour or crumbs
    6 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Grease baking dish.
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Pare and thinly slice apples into baking dish.
    Cut shortening into sugar and flour/crumb mixture.
    Spread sugar mixture over apples.
    Cinnamon may be sprinkled over apples or mixed into topping.
    Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
    Serve hot or cold with ice cream, whipped cream or plain.
    Makes 6 servings.
