Fruit Squares - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can fruit pie filling (cherry or peach)
    2 1/2 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 beaten egg yolk
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Combine flour, salt and sugar.
    Cut in shortening.
    Add egg yolk and milk; mix well.
    Take 1/2 of the dough and press into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Top with the fruit.
    Dot fruit with a little butter.
    Roll out the other 1/2 of dough and lay it on top of the fruit.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
    Cool and ice with powdered sugar and water icing.
