Charleston Oyster Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pt. oysters (select)
    saltine crackers
    1 small can evaporated milk
    1 1/2 cans water
    4 eggs, beaten
    salt and pepper
    butter
    dash of dry white wine (optional)
Preparation
    Place a layer
    of oysters in a casserole dish.\tCrumble over this a
    few
    saltines;
    repeat
    for
    second
    layer.
    Pour milk, dry white
    wine,
    eggs
    and water, beaten together, over layers until milk\tmixture has completely covered top.
    Season to taste. Bake at 375\u00b0 until brown.
    Serves 6 to 8.
