Traditional Trifle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    ladyfingers or sponge cake
    jam (flavor of choice)
    Jell-O (flavor of choice)
    canned or fresh fruit
    custard
    La Creme or very thick whipped cream
Preparation
    Break up the sponge cake or ladyfingers and spread with jam. Place in the bottom of glass dish (large).
    Arrange fruit on top of sponge cake; set aside.
    Make Jell-O; allow to cool a little, not yet firm, then spoon gently over sponge cake so that the Jell-O penetrates the sponge cake.
    Put dish into the refrigerator; Jell-O needs to be set firm.
    Meanwhile, make custard; allow to cool but not set, then spoon over the already set Jell-O.
    Just before serving, spoon over the set custard the La Creme or whipped cream and decorate.
