Mulled Wine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Water
    2 c. Sugar
    1 Orange, sliced
    1 Lemon, sliced
    2 Cinnamon Sticks
    12 whole Cloves
    12 Allspice Berries
    2 bottles Red Wine
    Garnishes: Cinnamon Sticks, Orange Rind Curls
Preparation
    Combine first 7 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium heat; bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer 5 min.
    Add wine; simmer 10 min.
    Pour mixture through a wire-mesh strainer into a container; discard solids.
    Garnish, if desired.
    Suggest using a Burgundy wine.
