Red Hot Salsa - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium tomatoes, chopped
    6 serrano or jalapeno chiles, deveined, seeded and chopped
    5 cloves garlic, minced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    5 scallions, chopped (including green tops)
    1/2 c. fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
    1/4 c. chopped fresh chives
    1 Tbsp. freshly chopped oregano
    1 tsp. sugar
    salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preparation
    In blender or food processor fitted with steel blade, process tomatoes, chiles and garlic until coarsely chopped.
    Turn into medium-size bowl and add remaining ingredients.
    Chill before serving.
    Spicy and light, great with tortillas, guacamole, chips and grilled hamburgers.
