Special Pea Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (17 oz.) cans English peas, drained
    3/4 c. chopped pecans
    1 small onion, chopped
    1 can water chestnuts, drained
    1/4 c. diced pimento, drained
    1/4 c. vegetable oil
    1/4 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/2 c. mayonnaise
Preparation
    In large bowl combine peas, pecans, onion, water chestnuts and pimento.
    Mix well.
    Mix together the oil, vinegar and sugar and spread evenly over mixture; refrigerate overnight.
    Before serving, drain mixture and stir in mayonnaise.
    Serve in bowl lined with lettuce leaves.
