Basic Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/3 c. flour
    2 c. milk
    2 egg yolks
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Mix the sugar and flour; add enough milk to make a thick paste.
    Add egg yolks and beat.
    Add remaining milk and salt; mix well.
    Cook in double boiler until thick.
    Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla.
