Orange Congealed Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. orange jello (not NutraSweet)
    1 c. hot water
    1 large can crushed pineapple
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. chopped pecans
    1/4 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
    1/4 c. American cheese, shredded
    1 medium Cool Whip
Preparation
    Dissolve jello with 1 cup hot water.
    Simmer on medium heat pineapple and sugar for 2 minutes.
    Add to jello mixture and refrigerate until set, several hours or overnight.
    After jello sets, mix remaining ingredients in order given.
    Place in a medium bowl or container.
