Okra Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 lb. small okra pods
    7 cloves garlic
    7 small fresh hot peppers
    1 qt. water
    2 c. vinegar
    1/3 c. pickling salt
    2 tsp. dill seed
Preparation
    Pack okra tightly into hot sterilized jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
    Place a garlic clove and a hot pepper in each.
    Combine water, vinegar, pickling salt and dill seed in a saucepan; bring to a boil.
    Pour boiling vinegar mixture over okra, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
    Remove air bubbles; wipe jar rims.
    Cover at once with metal lids and screw on bands.
    Process in boiling water bath 10 minutes.
    Yield:
    7 pints.
