Onion Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large sweet onion
    1/4 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. corn muffin mix
    1 egg, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
    1 c. creamed corn
    1 c. sour cream
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Chop onion.
    Saute slowly in butter.
    Combine muffin mix, egg, milk and corn.
    Put in buttered 9 x 12-inch casserole.
    To onions, add sour cream, salt and 1/2 cup cheese.
    Spread over corn meal batter.
    Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until brown and set.
    Cut in squares and serve warm.
