Syrup Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 eggs
    3/4 c. brown sugar
    3/4 c. molasses
    3/4 c. melted shortening
    2 1/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. soda with 1 c. hot water
    2 tsp. ginger
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation
    Mix and beat first 4 ingredients, then mix dry ingredients. Add the soda water to the wet mixture.
    Gradually add the dry mixture.
    Bake in moderate oven (350\u00b0) for 40 or 45 minutes or until done.
