Marinara Pasta Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/3 c. olive oil
    2 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
    3 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
    3 Tbsp. finely chopped onion
    1 (28 oz.) can whole tomatoes
    1 bay leaf
    dash of salt
    dash of black pepper
    fresh basil leaves
Preparation
    Place the sliced garlic, chopped parsley and onion in a microwave-safe dish. Add oil.
    Microwave on High power for 1 minute.
    Slightly break up the tomatoes. Add to onion-garlic mixture.
    Microwave on High power for about 8 minutes, stirring at least once.
    Add bay leaf, salt and pepper.
    Let stand for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring once. Add fresh basil leaves.
    Serve sauce hot or cold over pasta or rice. Also good served with meat loaf, meatballs or pork chops. Serves 4.
