Hamburger Vegetable Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 qt. tomatoes or juice
    2 carrots, diced
    1 c. celery, chopped
    3 medium onions, chopped
    2/3 c. rice or barley
    2 qt. water
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Brown beef and stir in tomatoes, mixing well.
    Add the rest of ingredients.
    Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low and simmer for 2 hours (a soup bone may be added for extra flavor).
