Parslow'S Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    2 c. sugar
    6 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. Crisco
    3/4 c. plus 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 1/2 tsp. soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine cake flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, Crisco and 3/4 cup buttermilk in bowl.
    Mix thoroughly at medium speed for 2 minutes. Stir in soda and baking powder.
    Add 1/2 cup buttermilk, eggs and vanilla.
    Mix thoroughly at medium speed for an additional 2 minutes.
    Bake in greased and floured 9-inch round cake pans for 30 to 40 minutes.
