Squash Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium zucchini, cut up
    1 pkg. crackers (saltines)
    1/4 c. finely chopped onion
    garlic salt
    1 egg, beaten
    oil
Preparation
    Cook squash until done in salted water; drain well.
    Smash squash; drain again.
    Add crackers, coarsely crumbled, a few at a time until mixture resembles a mush consistency.
    Add onion, egg and garlic salt to taste.
    Heat oil in frypan on medium heat.
    Fry spoonful of mixture as you would a pancake.
    Patties will be crisp golden brown on both sides.
    Can be served as an appetizer or side dish.
