Poppy Seed Cake - cooking recipe

2 Tbsp. poppy seed
1/4 c. milk
6 eggs, separated
1 c. Crisco
3 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. butter extract
1 tsp. lemon extract
1 tsp. almond extract
3 c. flour
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

In a small bowl, combine poppy seed and milk.
Set aside. Separate eggs.
In large bowl, cream Crisco and sugar.
Add egg yolks, poppy seed mix, buttermilk and extracts.
Sift flour, soda and salt well and add to mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold into batter.
Bake in tube pan 1 hour and 20 minutes at 325\u00b0. After three minutes, take out of pan and glaze.
