Barbecued Short Ribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. beef short ribs, cut into serving pieces
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 c. ketchup
    1/2 onion, chopped
    1/2 c. water
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. prepared mustard
    2 tsp. garlic salt
    1/4 tsp. powdered thyme
    1 lemon, sliced
Preparation
    Brown meat in shortening in
    a skillet.
    Drain off fat. Add remaining ingredients.
    Cover and
    simmer
    for
    1 1/2 to 2 hours or until tender.
    The ribs can also be covered and baked at 350\u00b0 until tender, approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
