Gram'S Applesauce Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
3/4 tsp. allspice
3/4 tsp. cloves
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 ___ chocolate
2 tsp. soda in 1 c. water
2 c. flour
1 c. raisins
1 c. nuts
1 1/2 c. applesauce

Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar, spices and chocolate; then add 2 teaspoons soda mixed in 1 cup water.
Add flour, raisins and nuts; mix well.
Add applesauce, mix well.
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan and bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0.
