Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 tsp. olive oil
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1/4 tsp. chopped garlic
    12 oz. chopped tomatoes or 1 (8 oz.) can Italian plum tomatoes, drained
    1/4 tsp. granulated sugar
    salt or pepper
    1 Tbsp. minced fresh basil or parsley
Preparation
    In a large frying pan, heat olive oil.
    Add onion and cook until soft but not brown.
    Add garlic, tomatoes, sugar, salt and pepper.
    Stir and cook, covered, until tomatoes are soft, about 30 minutes.
    Add basil or parsley and cook another 5 minutes.
