Asparagus With Cheese Sauce - cooking recipe

3 lb. fresh asparagus spears
2 tsp. reduced-calorie margarine
1 Tbsp. all-purpose flour
1 c. evaporated skim milk
1/2 c. (2 oz.) finely shredded Provolone cheese
1/4 tsp. salt
paprika (optional)
Preparation

Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Remove scales with vegetable peeler, if desired. Arrange asparagus in a steamer basket over boiling water; cover and steam 6 to 8 minutes or until tender-crisp.
