Autumn Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can crushed undrained pineapple
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon flavored jello
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. softened cream cheese
    1 c. diced apples
    1/2 to 1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. whipped topping
Preparation
    In saucepan, combine pineapple and sugar.
    Bring to boil and boil for 3 minutes.
    Add gelatin.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Add cream cheese; mix well.
    Cool.
    Fold in apples, nuts, celery and whipped topping.
    Pour into 9-inch square dish.
    Chill.
    Yields 9 to 12 servings.
