"Jewish Style" Potato Pancakes(Latkes) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 medium potatoes
    3 eggs
    1 to 1 1/2 c. matzo meal
    oil for frying
    1 grated onion
    1 tsp. salt
    pepper and garlic powder
Preparation
    Peel and grate potatoes (blender may be used).
    Grate onion into potatoes.
    Add eggs, matzo meal, salt, pepper and garlic to make a smooth batter (fairly heavy like pancake mix).
    Drop by spoonfuls into hot oil and brown in deep frying pan.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Serve with sour cream or applesauce.
