German Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 medium potatoes
    1 large carrot, coarsely grated
    1 stalk celery (including leaves)
    1/4 c. chopped parsley or dried
    1 medium onion, chopped
    5 or 6 slices bacon
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    1 c. milk
    2 Tbsp. flour
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Peel and slice potatoes.
    Cook potatoes, parsley, carrot, onion and celery (not chopped) in soup kettle until potatoes are tender.
    Remove celery stalk.
    Mash potatoes with a fork (coarsely).
