Mable E. Fowlkes' Coconut Cream Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. milk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. shredded coconut
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Boil sugar, salt and milk together, stirring just until sugar is dissolved.
    Bring to soft ball stage (test by dropping a small amount in cold water).
    Add coconut, vanilla and cream by beating with a wooden spoon until mixture becomes creamy.
    Turn into a buttered pan and cool.
    Cut into squares.
