*Raisin Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. raisins
    1 c. water
    3 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 c. shortening
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Place raisins and water in a saucepan.
    Bring to boil and boil for about 3 minutes.
    Set aside to cool; do not drain.
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Cream shortening and add sugar, beating well.
    Beat in eggs.
    Stir in the raisins with liquid and vanilla.
    Gradually add the flour mixture, blending thoroughly.
    Stir in nuts.
