Bread Custard Pudding - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 slices bread
4 eggs, well beaten
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
1 qt. scalded milk
Preparation

Cut crust from bread; butter one side.
Combine eggs, sugar and flavorings; add milk slowly, stirring until sugar dissolves. Put into baking dish, buttered side up.
Place in pan of hot water and bake at 350\u00b0 for 50 minutes or until knife comes out clean.
