Cream Of Asparagus Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. 1/2 inch asparagus pieces
    1 c. water
    1/2 c. finely chopped onions
    5 Tbsp. butter
    5 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    4 c. milk
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. instant chicken bouillon
Preparation
    Cook asparagus in 1 cup water until tender; drain, reserving liquid.
    Saute onions in butter until tender.
    Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
    Cook over medium heat for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
    Stir in milk, 1 cup water, reserved cooking liquid and bouillon gradually.
    Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
    Stir in asparagus.
    Heat through.
    Makes 6 servings.
