Gram Alice'S Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. yeast, dissolved in 1 c. water
    4 c. quick oats
    4 c. boiling water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 c. molasses
    1/4 c. melted shortening
    flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in 1 cup of water.
    Soak the oats in the 4 cups boiling water with the salt for 1 hour.
    Add molasses and melted shortening to oatmeal mixture as it cools.
    Add yeast and flour until mixture is quite thick.
    Let rise and bake as normal bread.
    Makes 2 loaves.
